SEASON 2006-2007

SMILEY'S NEW PLAYER DEAL

Kristiina City Flies international scouting department has been very busy this autumn. The Flies have managed to lure some players to return to their home area by better terms and conditions compared to what other teams (Helsingin Jokerit, Porin Ässät, Chigaco Black Hawks, Siikaisten Sisu....) are providing.  Negotiations and contractual meetings are ongoing strongly also nationwide. One of the most interesting try out forwarder Yvon Leblanc (season 06/07 2+0=2pts) comes from team Toronto Seamen, Canada.

Our reporter managed to catch him for interview during the try out training:

Mr Leblanc, how does finnish hockey fit in your style of playing?
- Quite ok, the speed of passing the puck is faster than ours, if you compare it to the speed of skating. I think I could get used to this "flieing" style of the City Flies during two or three seasons if I've got 50 to 60 minutes ice time in a game.

Ok... and how do you feel about Kristiina City Flies change for successfull tournament in Canadian hockey circus?
- Hah, hah... You are welcome to find out !

Unfortunately Mr Leblanc decided to go back to Canada because he is so committed to the Team Seamen. However, the Flies appreciate his decision. There is also a rumour that in near future (this decade) there will be history's longest playing trip when the Flies meets Toronto Seamen in Canada. There might be quite hard times in getting all the permissions from the authorities at home. But well prepared is almost done, like old finnish dictum says. Flies leave application.
